The Satanta High School track team finished up a successful season at the KSHSAA state track meet in Wichita, with all three athletes who qualified for state earning a medal.

Senior Kacen Anthony placed 3rd in discus with a throw of 146-04. This concluded a strong senior season for Anthony, who placed 2nd in discus at the 1A regional meet in Tribune the week before with a throw of 150-1. He also placed 2nd in discus at the SPIAA league track meet and brought home six gold and one silver medal in discus throughout the season. In shot put, he placed 7th at regionals and 4th at league. He placed at every meet, including two gold and one silver medal. Anthony also earned six medals in javelin this year, including one gold medal. 

Sophomore Isaiah Manriquez placed 8th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.42. Manriquez placed in the 100m at every track meet, including one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals. Manriquez also competed in long jump this season, placing at every meet, including third at the SPIAA league track meet.

Freshman Cameron Ross placed 8th in javelin with a throw of 123-09. She brought home a medal from every track meet where she threw, including placing 2nd at regionals and 3rd at the SPIAA league meet. She brought home two gold medals during the regular season. Ross also competed in long jump and triple jump this season.

Other SHS athletes had strong seasons, including Xander Garcia, who placed 5th in the 3200 meter at regionals, and Malia Anderson, who placed 5th in the 300 meter hurdles and 6th in the 100 meter hurdles at regionals. Garcia placed in the top six at every meet in the 3200, including two gold medals. He also competed in the 300 meter hurdles and pole vault, bringing home 16 total medals. Anderson earned a total of 13 medals in her events, including placing 2nd at the SPIAA league meet in the 100 hurdles.

Senior Sean Wagner brought home seven medals in javelin throughout the season, including placing 6th at the SPIAA league track meet. Junior Isaiah Garcia brought home five medals in the 800 meter run, including three bronze medals. Senior Bobby Salazar suffered an injury that ended his season early. He earned four medals throughout the season in the 100, 200, and long jump.

Other track athletes included Edwin Arana, Kassady Lazar, Eva Loewen, Maria Loewen, Aiden Miramontes, Adam Olivas, Gracey Palmer, Marlen Perez, Roman Salazar, Oscar San Juan, and Anai Sanchez.
