Homecoming

It’s Homecoming week in Satanta, and there are opportunities for every Indian fan to take part in. Both school buildings are participating in Spirit Week with a few adjustments made for elementary students. Check the grade school and high school Facebook pages for details. Naturally, Friday is Green and Gold Day for the entire Satanta Community!

The bulk of the Homecoming activities will fall on Friday, September 22. That morning all USD 507 students in grades 6-12 will participate in two hours of community service before they begin float building for the 2:30 p.m. parade, which will head down Main Street before arriving at Satanta Grade School for a district-wide pep assembly on the playground. The approximate start time for the pep assembly is 2:45 p.m. The public is invited to this fun-filled annual event!

Due to the football game being played on Saturday rather than Friday (because of a shortage of officials), Friday night will also be packed with activities! From 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. the KAY organization will sponsor a high school intramural volleyball competition in the main gym. The Satanta Booster Club will serve an Athlete Appreciation Meal for all junior high and high school athletes participating in football, volleyball, cross country, and cheer at 7:00 p.m. At 8:30 p.m. SHS Cheer and Satanta Student Council will host a bonfire, which will be followed by a movie night on the football field sponsored by Satanta FFA.

Game time for Saturday’s game against Elkhart is 7:00 p.m. with the Homecoming coronation taking place at 6:30 p.m. on the field. Wear your green and gold and come out a cheer for the Indians!
