The Satanta Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that two Satanta High School juniors have been selected to serve the community as Chief and Princess Satanta. These young people are Isaiah Manriquez and Andrea Gutierrez, respectively. The pair was chosen after having interviewed with a panel of Chamber members and will be coronated on Satanta Day, May 11, at 10:25 a.m. in advance of the Satanta Day Parade. They will accept the passing of headdress and shawl from outgoing Chief and Princess, Braden Hoskinson and Katelynn Delaplane and Medicine Man Joseph Anderson.

Manriquez and Gutierrez are both longtime residents of Satanta and active students at Satanta High School. Manriquez has been a member of the Indian football, basketball, baseball, and track teams and has won many honors on the field and court. Gutierrez is a member of the volleyball and cheer teams, is a member of National Society, Student Council, and KAYs.

Both Manriquez and Gutierrez will receive $500 scholarships from the Satanta Chamber of Commerce and will represent the community of Satanta at events throughout the year. Their participation in this long-standing tradition ensures that the story of Chief Satanta will not be forgotten. Like him, the people of Satanta will continue to fight to protect the way of life that we all hold dear.
