SENIORS, please see this note from Satanta Broadcasting:
Dear Seniors,
The Senior Slideshow is a special tradition that plays at graduation. It’s a time for each senior to share a moment with their loved ones, typically as they go down to give their flowers to family and friends. The slideshow consists of photos from the senior's life leading up to this important moment, an audio message from their parents, and a song of the senior's choice.
As we prepare for the 2025 Senior Slideshow, we ask that you complete the following tasks by Monday, March 24th:
Please have your parents record their audio message using the Voice Memo app on an iPhone and email it to SatantaBroadcasting@usd507.org. If you do not have an iPhone, feel free to use another recording app or device, but ensure the recording is no longer than 30 seconds.
Each senior is requested to submit 10 photos that reflect your growth and development over the years.
Select a song and let us know the specific segment or time frame you would like to play in the background of your pictures. The song must be school appropriate.
These materials will be used by Satanta Broadcasting to create the Senior Slideshow.
Thank you for your cooperation and participation. If you have any questions, please feel free to communicate with Lalo, Anai, or Ms. Medrano.
Thank you,
Satanta Broadcasting

Edgar Najera, a sophomore at Satanta High School, has been selected to participate in the 2025 Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Youth Tour in Washington, D.C., from June 2-6, 2025. Najera earned this opportunity by writing an essay about the role of technology in his life, showcasing his understanding of its impact on rural communities.
Sponsored by Pioneer Communications, the Youth Tour gives students an inside look at the telecommunications industry, educates them about the legislative and governmental process, and provides a once-in-a-lifetime experience exploring the nation’s capital. Participants will also have the chance to meet and connect with other students from rural communities across the country, forming friendships that last a lifetime.
Congratulations, Edgar, on this incredible achievement! We are excited to see you represent our community in Washington, D.C.

Satanta FCCLA Member Receives Foundation Grant
Hannah Wood and the Satanta Jr.-Sr. High School FCCLA chapter are the recipients of the Kansas FCCLA Education Foundation Grant. Hannah’s STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) Event for the year focuses on supporting families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City.
Having personally spent time at the Ronald McDonald House—affectionately known as the "Rondo"—while her brother underwent cancer treatment this year, Hannah was inspired to give back. She has contributed in multiple ways, including organizing Snack Packs, distributing holiday gift cards, and leading a Personal Care Drive.
Additionally, the Satanta FCCLA chapter sold socks, donating a portion of the proceeds to the Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City to be used as needed. Donations from the community have supported Hannah’s efforts, and the $200 Foundation Grant will help purchase personal care items for the families staying at the Rondo.
Hannah completed a STAR Event for the District F competition and is now advancing to the State competition in April. Her project exemplifies true community service, benefiting both the local community and the Ronald McDonald House community that has provided support to her family and many others.

USD 507 PreK and Kindergarten Round Up will be held Thursday, March 13, at 5:30 p.m. in the SGS gym. This is an opportunity for incoming 3 and 4 year old preschoolers as well as kindergarteners to submit enrollment paperwork, visit classrooms, and meet teachers.

Satanta Forensics was on the road this weekend, competing at Holcomb High School. Representing Satanta were Lauren Dusin, Deacon Hockett, and Adrian Aguilar.
Lauren Dusin, freshman, took first at this meet in Serious Solo, qualifying for State Champs, and also took second in Humorous Solo, an event she had previously qualified for state.
Deacon Hockett, freshman, took fourth in Extemporaneous Speaking and fourth in Informative, his best performances of the season thus far.
Adrian Aguilar, sophomore, gave strong performances in both Prose and Poetry but fell short of finals.
The full team will next compete at an evening tournament at South Gray on March 27 and at the SPIAA League Tournament, hosted annually by Satanta High School, on April 2.
