
Yahaira Puerto, pictured here with Nick Leon and Victor Alvarado, was recently honored as the Haskell County Rotary Club's Student of the Month for December.
Puerto, a senior at Satanta Junior-Senior High School, is a well-rounded student excelling in academics, athletics, leadership, and community service. With a 3.9 GPA, she balances advanced coursework, including earning her Certified Nurse Assistant certification, with leadership roles such as National Honor Society President and Cheer Captain. Yahaira is a multi-sport athlete, earning all-league honors in basketball, volleyball, and softball. She also volunteers in our community and aspires to become a neonatal intensive care nurse. Her dedication and accomplishments make her an outstanding role model and deserving recipient of this honor.

The SPIAA league high school basketball tournament will be held at United Wireless Arena, which has a clear bag policy. Please make note of what bags are allowed in the arena.

4 year old at-risk or IEP students
Other 4 year olds
3 year old at-risk or IEP students
Other 3 year olds
Non-resident students

Congratulations to the Satanta High School Scholars' Bowl team who placed second tonight at the SPIAA League Tournament at Pawnee Heights with a record of 9-2.

Jalynn Hockett was named to the All-League team (for the second year in row) and Deacon Hockett and Lauren Dusin received all-league honorable mention designations.

High School Student of the Month:
Sophomore Mia Burrows has been recognized as the Student of the Month for Satanta High School. Her peers and teachers praised her exceptional leadership skills, positive attitude, and her new role as a referee at junior high games. Many highlighted her willingness to help others and her ability to inspire and uplift those around her. One comment from a peer summed it up perfectly: “I really respect what she’s doing.”
Junior High Student of the Month:
Sixth grader Macklin Alexander has been recognized as the Student of the Month for Satanta Junior High. Voters highlighted his kindness, positive attitude, and dedication both in and out of the classroom. He was also commended for his athletic effort, academic excellence, and responsibility. As one voter noted, “He cares deeply about what he is doing.”


USD 507 would like to thank the Board of Education members who volunteer their time to serve our district!


All USD 507 stakeholders are invited to attend a site council meeting on January 17 to learn about our new Leader in Me program and accreditation action plan.


We fell just short of our goal of 27 total units tonight at the Satanta National Honor Society Blood Drive, but given the weather and a slow start to donor sign-ups, we're counting this drive a success!
Thanks to all those who came out to give the gift of life and to the awesome crew from the American Red Cross who ran an excellent drive today!

USD 507 will have a late start tomorrow, January 10. Classes begin at 10 a.m. No morning preschool.


PowerSchool, our district’s Student Information System provider, has informed us of a nationwide data breach in their system. We have been working to gather additional information and will continue to do so. According to PowerSchool, there is no longer an active threat. However, it may have affected the data of our employees, students, and their families.We are taking steps internally to protect data security, including changing passwords and PowerSchool settings.
USD 507 is serious about protecting the security and privacy of all data. At this time, we are waiting for additional information from PowerSchool and guidance from state officials. We promise to do everything we can to learn more and will communicate directly with parents, guardians, and employees.

The Satanta High School Class of 2027 is serving a homemade enchilada meal at the home junior high basketball game against Meade on Thursday, January 9. The meal will include beef enchiladas, rice and beans, and dessert for $10. Take-out meals will be available. Meals will be available at 5:00 p.m. or soon as the food is hot and ready!


The USD 507 Care Closet is overflowing with clothing and shoe donations! Please join us on Sunday, January 19 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Satanta High School to shop for FREE items for yourself and your family. Our Care Closet is located in the last classroom on the junior high wing. Please park in the large lot to the east of the main building. After this event, we will once again be accepting donations of new and gently used clothing and shoes, and we hope to expand our service to include personal hygiene products.
